WDTY of the girl's name Novalee?

I think the idea is that because Novalee Nation (the character) is born to a very low-class, uneducated mother, we do associate it with white trash. BabyNames.com says it's "American" which usually means made up. I thought it was a bit trashy at first too, but the character is so compelling and strong that it's grown on me, too. If I met a little girl called Novalee, I would assume that her mom was a fan of a good movie and a good book. And there's nothing wrong with that.
