How do go about asking neutral questions about capital punishment?

I have a group speech assignment where I have to ask my group mates questions regarding capital punishment. They are supposed to be answering as experts on the issues which means no questions and no answers about personal feelings on the subject. We have to look at both sides of the issue. Everything in our reading is basically one side vs the other. I need help figuring out how I can go about asking neutral and open ended questions regarding this.
