How does the American accent sound to people from other countries?

Im from the USA and Im going to Australia and Europe soon and I was just wondering how the american accent sounds to people from these places. I want to know what people will think of me when i go to these places. Im from the south so i do sort of have a southern accent, but it really isnt bad, its just a hint of a southern accent but i dont sound like an uneducated hillbilly. So i was wondering do people from these countries tend to avoid people with an accent like mine? Or do they like it? Also im a girl by the way, not sure if that will help you answer my question though.
