Going camping with 2 friends this weekend in the woods!?

What should i bring with me? Also we are going for 3 days and we are going to camp in some unknown woods and im kinda nervous cause i have no idea if there is going to be animals hillbillies or other harmful things! We live in South Carolina! We will be sleeping in tents and my friend will be bringing a gun just in case of a emergency! What should i bring myself?
